A great place for families to meet and play!

The Melrose Family Room is a cooperative of families with young children.

The Melrose Family Room (MFR) was established in October 1988 as a gathering place for families of infants and young children through age six. The room provides space for families to play, talk, and get to know other families from Melrose and the surrounding communities. There are assorted toys, equipment, games, arts & crafts activities and snacks in the room.

We also schedule regular events for our member community to connect and host private parties for members. Take a look at our upcoming events highlights below or see our Events page for a complete list of current and past events.

Join MRF member, Lauren, for a Spanish speaking play date! Anyone is welcome to join, but help encourage using and practicing your Spanish with the kids! Lauren plans to play Spanish music and lead a game or craft.

Coloring, Doodling, and Designs: Art to Stress Less!

Adult-only time at the MFR! You care for others all day- come do something just for yourself! Join with other MFR parents and caregivers to destress through coloring, doodling and creating easy designs.  This type of art can be a fun and calming way connect with yourself and others. Share a high point and low point from your week if desired, but not necessary! Led By MFR member and cofounder, art therapist and grandmother Rebecca Mooney. Please RSVP so we can plan for supplies!
