Get ready for the chilly weather ahead and clean out your closets at the MFR Winter Clothing Swap! This is a great opportunity to give a second life to the winter wear your little ones have outgrown and get some bigger sizes without breaking the bank. Please see below for details: Criteria: Clean winter coats, snow pants/snow suits, and boots that are in good condition for another family to use. Drop Off: Now through Wednesday, November 1 in the storage closet at the MFR (the larger closet across the hall from the playroom - photo attached). There are two bins available - one for sizes 0-24M and one for 2T+. Board members will periodically check in and add more bins if needed. Swap Event: Come pick up new (to you!) items on Sunday, November 5 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the MFR. The room will not be closed during this time. Any clothing left at the end of the event will be donated (we’re still in the process of identifying the recipient charity, but wanted to get the notification out ASAP!). The MFR is partnering up with our friends at The Kitchen! On Sunday, November 5th from 10am-12pm, your little ones are invited to our member-only Pizza Making Party! Chefs-in-training will have the chance to hone their dough rolling, mixing, and cutting skills (with kid-safe equipment) -- and finish off their creation with their favorite toppings. The best part? Everyone gets to enjoy their pizza at the end of class! The details: The cost of this class is $30 per child and is intended for children ages 3-6. Each child must be accompanied by a caregiver/sous chef for the duration of the class. No more than two children per family, please. Due to the size of the space, registration is limited to 18 children. Have a child with gluten troubles? We've got you! Other allergies? Trick or treat! Come enjoy some spooky decorations, fun Halloween craft projects, some dancing to Halloween music, and don't forget the Halloween treats!  Wear you favorite costume of course! Bring your littles over to the Melrose Family Room for a special Sunday Funday Storytime.  We are so excited to host a storytime with our friends at Loving Little Minds.  Loving Little Minds is a local nonprofit organization that provides free and subscription-based monthly children's multicultural books to kids ages 0-6 to battle systemic racism and empower our littles to envision a more just future for all. We will have a local author come and read her powerful kid-friendly story about food, family and connection.  She will then lead a craft so our littles can take the cross-cultural and multi-generational story highlight home with them.  Please register all of your littles so that we can have the appropriate materials for crafts.  

Looking to connect with other parents and caregrivers? Maybe you want some more interaction for your kiddos? Stop by the Melrose Family Room on Monday morning between 8:30-10:30 for our free, drop-in playgroup!
