Holiday Puppet Show on Sunday 12/18!

Happy Holidays! The MFR will be hosting a Holiday Puppet Show with Leigh Baltzer from Through Me to You Puppetry on Sunday, 12/18, at 3:30 p.m. She will be reading holiday and winter classics like How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Snowy Day. After her performance, the kids will be able to play and interact with her colorful and delightful puppets. Come enjoy some spooky decorations, fun Halloween craft projects, some dancing to Halloween music, enjoy a Halloween movie, and don't forget the Halloween treats!  Wear you favorite costume of course! Melrose Victorian Fair - Volunteer Opportunity

Calling all MFR members! The Melrose Family Room will be partnering with the Toyary to host a table at the Victorian Fair on September 11th, and we are looking for volunteers who are available to help spread the good word about MFR membership to potential new members. The volunteer commitment will be for one hour between 10:30 am and 4:30 pm, which will fulfill the volunteer requirement for the 2022- 2023 year. Melrose Family Room has been cleaned, but we need your help!!!

Our beloved Melrose Family Room has undergone a deep-cleaning treatment and it's looking better than ever!  The only thing left to do is put the furniture and toys all back in place.  We are looking for volunteers (current or new members) who can leave the kids at home and come by this Saturday August 20th from 9am to 11am. Lending a hand will satisfy the membership requirement of volunteer hours for the upcoming 22-23 membership year, which will be officially reinstated. And there will be coffee! Please RVSP so we have an idea of how many hands we have for this re-opening project. Thank you!

Cool down at the splash pad this Saturday with the MFR! The Hall Memorial Pool in Stoneham has graciously allowed MFR members early entry at 9 a.m. (before its open to the public!). Kids get in FREE, adults are $3/person.  Please register!

MFR Community Garden - Come plant seeds with us!

Did you know that the MFR has a plot at the Melrose Community Garden for all members to explore and enjoy!? Come by this Saturday at 9 a.m. to plant some seeds and enjoy a storytime.  It's going to be a hot one! Please remember to bring water to help little ones cool down.
